Abstract
1352991 Animal breeding house J FROST 19 April 1971 [28 Oct 1969] 52670/69 Heading A1M A circular animal breeding house has central sections 20 for male animals and segments which each include first 24, second 30 and third 42 intermediate sections for females to be served, dry females and farrowing females respectively. Outer sections 48 are divided into sub-sections 50 having pens 52, 54, 56 to accommodate young animals of increasing weight. Slats 60, 66, 70, 78 allow dung to drop into annular passageways which lead, via radial passageways and a collection duct, to a collection chamber. The dung is moved by transfer means comprising a paddle pivotally mounted to an arm having rollers which run on a track in the passageways. Cables, attached to the transfer means, are connected to suitable driving means. Walls 90, 92 separate the house into 'enviromental' sections and, together with a hot air duct beneath the floor and a cold air fan connected by a shaft to the roof cavity, allows separate temperature control in each section. Removable hollow walls divide each section into pens. Food is conveyed to the top of each hollow wall, a quantity being dropped into a trough in each pen.
