Abstract

1352866 Metal containing laminate OLIN CORP 14 May 1971 [30 July 1970 28 Aug 1970] 14993/71 Heading B5N [Also in Division C7] A copper sheet which is to be used to form a printed circuit is first contacted with a phosphoric acid solution containing sodium or potassium dichromate to give a 20 to 1000 Angstrom thick copper phosphate film. The copper sheet may be first roughened or oxidized by heating in air or oxygen at 200 to 370‹ C. The phosphoric acid may be added in the form of Na, K or Li phosphates. The sheet may be subsequently bonded to a plastics, e.g. polyester or polyimide film. The copper sheet may be annealed at 250 to 500‹ F. before bonding.
