Abstract

1352455 Card clothing PETER WOLTERS 27 Oct 1971 [28 Oct 1970] 49947/71 Heading D1N A carding engine card comprises a plurality of U-shaped needles in rows across the card to form rows across the card and lanes along the card. The needles are in overlapping relationship, the lane width G being an integral multiple of the needle width N. Pairs of needles in adjacent rows overlap and each needle pair is separated from the successive needle pairs aligned longitudinally therewith by further pairs of rows of needles. The arrangement also forms oblique chains of needles. Various geometric relationships of the needle widths and spacings are given.
