Abstract

1352356 Coatings PONT-A-MOUSSON SA 19 April 1971 [14 April 1970] 26188/71 Heading B2E A method of coating surfaces comprises applying to the surface to be coated a coating of polyethylene grafted by a monomer including one or more polar radicals and then applying a second coating formed by at least one polyolefin and at least one hard mineral filler to form a secondary coating. The polyolefin may be a high, medium, or low-density polypropylene and/or polyethylene. The filler may be corundum, silica, emery, metal carbides, iron oxides, aluminium silicates, spinels, peridotes or zircons. The coatings may be formed by heating the substrate and then applying the two polymer layers .in particulate form, by pouring, or by the use of an electrostatic gun The method may be applied to pipes, steel plates, plastics, asbestos-cement or concrete.
