1352267 Medicines comprising steroids SCHERICO Ltd 23 July 1971 [24 July 1970 29 July 1970] 34587/71 Heading A5B [Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions comprise antiinflammatory steroids of the formulae the 1-dehydro, 6-dehydro and 1,6-bis-dehydro derivatives of the steroids of Formula (I), the 16α, 17α- and 17α, 21-C 2-6 alkylidene derivatives of the 16α, 17α-diols and 17α, 21-diols, and mono- and di-alkali and alkaline earth metal salts of the 21-phosphates, wherein Q is OH or O acyl; W is H, α- or #-C 1-6 alkyl, α-OH, α-O acyl or =CHT (T is C 1-6 alkyl, H, F or Cl); X is H, Cl, F or Br; Y is H, =O or #-OH, or, when X is halogen, #-halogen; Z is OH, O acyl or OPO 3 H 2 ; and V is H, acyl or C 1-20 hydrocarbon sulphonyl; the acyl radicals being derived from C 1-12 carboxylic acids; and suitable carriers. They may also contain other active ingredients, particularly anti bacterials such as neomycin sulphate.
