1352093 Internal-combustion engine stop gear MOTOREN-UND TURBININ-UNIONFRIEDRICHSHAFEN GmbH 28 July 1972 [31 July 1971] 35451/72 Heading F1K A liquid cooled internal-combustion engine has a safety device connected to detect both the pressure of the coolant and the pressure of the lubricating oil of the engine, the safety device being arranged to interrupt the fuel supply to the engine if the instantaneous lubricating oil pressure falls below a predetermined minimum value corresponding to the instantaneous value of the coolant pressure. The lubricating oil pressure acts through a pipeline 27 in the chamber 20 and the cooling water pressure acts through a pipeline 29 in a chamber 30. If the cooling water pressure predominates the pistons 12, 13 are moved to the right. The pressurized lubricating oil in the pipe 28 can then enter the chamber 31. The spring 18 then pushes the piston 13 to the right and shuts the line 27. The governor 24 can then no longer function and the engine stops for lack of fuel.
