Abstract

1351638 Pneumatic tents J LINECKER 19 April 1971 [2 April 1970 27 Aug 1970] 25970/ 71 Heading E1A A pneumatic tent of double walled construction has the outer skin 1 attached to and suspended from stay lines 2 each of which extends over the skin from one discrete anchorage 23 to another, the anchorages being arranged around the periphery of the tent and each stay lines crossing over at least one another stay line. The sides of the tent are formed by arched elements 3, 3' or by a skin disposed between vertical columns. The elements 3 may be subdivided by struts, supported by vertical stays 8 or replaced by panels of skin. The outer surface of the inner skin may be made reflecting as by the provision of a vapour-deposited metal coating. Window frames of concrete or glass-fibre reinforced plastics material may be incorporated in the tent and have single or double window panels of polymethylmethacrylate. For numerous minor details of joints between skins, inlet and outlet valves, door frames, windows, fixing of windows, foundations &c the Specification and remaining drawings (not shown) should be referred to.
