Abstract
1351608 Valves M K REFRIGERATION Ltd 8 July 1971 [5 June 1970] 27422/70 Heading F2V A flow controller designed for use with a beer dispensing apparatus, comprises a body 10, Fig. 1, having a central bore 12 which tapers in a direction from the inlet 11 towards the outlet and a valve member 13 which has a corresponding taper and is movable longitudinally along the bore 12. The valve member end portions 14, 15 are curved and merge smoothly with the tapered portion. The included angle of convergence of both the bore and the valve member is preferably 10 degrees. Longitudinal movement of the valve member is effected by rotating a handle 24 and so also a shaft 19 having a cranked end 22 co-operating with a transversely extending slot 23 formed in the valve member. In a modification, Fig. 3, not shown, the valve member is axially movable by a rotary screw-threaded cap (39) to which an extension shaft (38) of the valve member is secured, the inlet to the controller lying at right angles to the controller body and above the valve member. Morever the included angle of convergence of bore and valve member is 16 degrees.
