Abstract
1351303 Smokers' pipes M G NASH 3 Nov 1972 [12 Aug 1971] 37897/71 Heading A2M A filter insert for the bowl of a tobacco pipe comprises a perforated disc 1 mounted on a plug 28 of filter material, e.g. of cellulose acetate filaments, and resilient means extending radially outwardly of the disc periphery to retain the insert in the bowl. As shown, the resilient means comprises a metal gauze 46. In another embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), a somewhat ball-shaped mass (50) of extra fine gauge wire wool is mounted beneath the disc 1 and acts both as the filter material and as the resilient retaining means.
