Abstract

1350991 Sprinkler head GEORGE ANGUS & CO Ltd 7 June 1972 [11 June 1971] 27544/71 Heading ASA An automatic sprinkler head comprises a nozzle 10 and a valve 13 held in position to close the nozzle by a heat frangible temperature sensitive element 17 wherein the valve has a flat face which abuts against the outer end of the bore of the nozzle, and the bore contains a cup-shaped sealing member 12 constituted by a one-piece moulding of resilient material which is held in place by the valve and whose peripheral wall is maintained in sealing engagement with the wall of the bore. The valve is held in a central position over the nozzle by a spring washer 14. The valve and sealing cup are released from the nozzle upon fracture of the temperature sensitive element which may be a frangible ampable or solder link or a chemical pellet. The sealing member may be made of silicone rubber.
