Abstract

1350983 Crank presses INSTITUT CHERNOI METALLURGII 22 April 1971 10659/71 Heading B5F A device for equalizing the torque on the crank-shaft of a vertical crank press includes an air cylinder 1 pivotally mounted at 0 1 on the press frame and having a piston whose piston rod 7 is pivotally connected to the crank-shaft at the same point as a connecting rod 8 for the press ram, the cylinder 1 being connected to an air distribution system controlled by valve means 2 ... 5 which varies the air pressure within the cylinder 1 in dependence on the position of the crank-shaft in its cycle of revolution so as to counteract torque of a negative sign. The apparatus includes air valves 2, 3, a non-return valve 4, by-pass valve 5 and an air receiver 6.
