Abstract

1350552 Sanitary closets O B JOHANSEN 4 Jan 1972 [15 Jan 1971] 283/72 Heading E1C In a sanitary closet of the kind having a bowl 2 the outlet from which is normally closed by a valve disc 8 movable to uncover the opening by mechanism 10-17 which simultaneously opens a valve 24 in a water supply pipe 23 for feeding water to a spray nozzle 30, the nozzle 30 comprises a nose 33, which directs a spray of water jets downwardly against and around the centre of the outlet, and also lateral openings 37, 38 which direct further water jets tangentially so as to wash the sides of the bowl. The linkwork mechanism 10-17 comprises a bell crank lever 13, 14 having an extension arm 29 operating the valve 24. Arm 14 of the lever is connected to operating rod 17 and also to the piston 18 of a dash pot cylinder 20 which determines the duration of a flush.
