Abstract
1350432 Catalyst regeneration UNIVERSAL OIL PRODUCTS CO 24 March 1971 7712/71 Heading B1F In Fig. 3, catalyst particles from hydrocarbon reforming are regenerated as they pass downwards as a moving annular bed 74 by an oxygen containing recycle flue gas from 66 which passes transversely through the bed to burn off the carbon and leaves via 82, then by a halogen-steam containing gas from 67 which passes transversely through the bed and leaves via central outlet 85, and finally the catalyst is passed to drier 78 where dry air from 94 dries the particles and removes excess halogen, the gas effluent from the drier moving up into the annular bed to mix with the halogen-steam containing gas passing through the bed from 67. In the embodiment of Figs. 1 and 2, the bed is formed between two perforate plates 3 and 4.
