Abstract

1349489 Loud-speaker cabinets NECKERMANN VERSAND KGaA 9 Aug 1971 [18 Aug 1970] 37403/71 Headings H4J and H4X A loud-speaker cabinet includes rigid internal partitions which define a pressure chamber for the loud-speaker and a spiral horn which extends around the pressure chamber gradually opening out and couples the chamber to an external opening in the cabinet. The Figure shows an internal view of the cabinet after the front face has been removed. The loud-speaker faces outwardly through an aperture in the front face and protrudes rearwardly into a pressure chamber 14. Sound in the chamber 14 passes round a spiral formed by partitions such as 16 which extend between the front face and a partition 4 parallel to that face and pass over an edge 26 of an opening 27 to enter a lower chamber below the partition 4. The lower chamber is divided by a partition which extends in the direction of the edge 26, below that edge and below the chamber 14 to form a continuation of the horn which extends in a clockwise direction round the partition. The horn then turns towards the front of the casing and debouches through a square opening in the front face.
