Abstract
1349090 Rotary positive-displacement engines K A BAILEY 12 July 1972 [15 July 1971] 33194/71 Heading F1F A rotary internal combustion engine comprises rotors 10, 11 fixed to a common shaft 14 for rotation in respective chambers 12, 13, each rotor having outwardly slidable vanes 19. An inlet passage 22 leads into chamber 12 and diametrically opposite is a conbustion chamber 25 which communicates with chamber 13 which has an exhaust passage diametrically opposite to the combustion chamber opening. The inletoutlet passage configuration in relation to the rotor is the same in both chambers 12, 13 but the rotor 11 is eccentric in opposite direction to rotor 10. Fluid is drawn in through passage 22 and is ignited in chamber 25 whence it rotates rotor 11 and is exhausted eventually from chamber 13.
