Abstract

1348846 Microwave ovens MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [3 March 1970] 23138/71 Heading H5H A microwave oven door seal utilizes two chokes 14, 20, one having a length of odd times #/4 and the other having a length of integral times #/2. Several configurations are described, Figs. 6-14 (not shown). A ferrite rubber member 25 absorbs any remaining leakage. A partition wall 11 of choke 14 also acts as support for a dielectric plate 9 protecting the mode stirrer 8 and magnetron input 7. Air blown through the heating chamber 6 by a blower 19 is guided past plate 9 and wall 11 to vents 15, passage 17 and exhaust vents 18. Chokes 14, 20, may be reduced in dimensions by filling them with suitable dielectric material. A transparent window 23 is protected by a perforated metal member 22. Opening of the door 2 actuates a microswitch, Fig. 4 (not shown).
