Abstract
1348341 Hand grips &c for baths D E FRANCIS 25 Oct 1971 [13 April 1971] 9275/71 Heading A4N [Also in Divisions E1 and E2] A device for assisting a person to get into and out of a bath arranged against a wall comprises a bracket A adapted to be secured to the wall above the bath, an arm D pivoted to the bracket to swing between a retracted position against the wall to one side of the bracket and an extended position substantially at right angles to the wall, a stop engaged by the arm at its extended position, and a ladder e.g. a rope ladder suspended from the arm to provide a hand hold for the bather. Preferably as shown the arm D has a loop slightly to one side of the plane of the arm so that the arm can be placed on the pivot pin B on the projecting limb of the bracket to lie against the wall on either chosen side of the bracket, a central stop pin C on the bracket limiting the extent of swing of the arm.
