Abstract
1347372 Altering individual digits of stored numbers TRYGON ELECTRONICS 19 April 1971 [27 March 1970] 42071/73 Divided out of 1347371 Heading G4H Individual digits of a number keyed into a store can be replaced without clearing the whole number. The store 106 comprises six sections 106a-106f. The number to be inserted in the store is keyed serially into decimal keyboard 25. Each decimal value is converted to binary by decoder 25 and applied to all sections of store 106. Shift register 110 is coupled to stores 106a-106f so that only that store which corresponds to an actuated shift register stage can take up the applied binary signal. Stage S1 is initially actuated and each actuation of a switch on keyboard 25 shifts the register one stage so the keyed in digits enter stores 106f to 106a in succession. To change an individual digit, the shift register stage corresponding to that digit is actuated and the digit keyed in. Clear button 32 actuates stage S1 of the register and renders the other stages in a non-actuated state. Digital display tubes 16 may be used to indicate the stored value. As described, the keyboard and store are part of a precision power supply which forms the subject of Specification 1,347,371.
