Abstract

1347225 A.C.-D.C. converters; X-ray supply systems SIEMENS AG 5 June 1972 [7 June 1971] 26194/72 Headings H2F and H2H Apparatus for supplying X-ray apparatus 5 comprises a three-phase rectifier 1 to provide D.C. to an inverter 2 which provides a square wave A.C. pulse train of a frequency greater than the input at RST to the primary of a transformer 3, the secondary of which is connected via a further rectifier 4 and smoothing circuit 14 to the X-ray device 5, a device 6 monitoring both current and voltage supplied to the X-ray tube and sending signals to a controller 9 also adapted to receive signals at 10 indicative of the desired parameter values and to send signals over leads 12, 13 to control the mark-space ratio of the output waveform of the inverter 2 and thereby the D.C. value of the voltage at 5, and a signal over lead 11 to control the current at 5. The capacitance provided at 14 may be that of the cables connected to the device 5.
