Abstract

1347153 Ventilating control valves ROYAIR Ltd 25 Aug 1972 [8 Sept 1971] 41843/71 Heading F4V A damper for mounting in a circular crosssectioned ventilation duct comprises concentrically arranged outer, inner and intermediate annular members 1, 2 and 4 respectively, the members 1 and 2 being fixed together by stays 3 and the member 4 being rotatably mounted on the member 2 by means of a shaft 6, damper blades 10 each mounted for rotation about a radial axis 11 between the members 1 and 2 by means of pivot pins 14 and 15<SP>1</SP> received in holes 12, 13 in members 1, 2, and pins 15<SP>11</SP> fixed to the blades 10 and received in guide slots 5 in the member 4 whereby rotation of the member 4 produces simultaneous rotation of the blades 10. Each slot 5 is T-shaped, with the pins 15<SP>1</SP> and 15<SP>11</SP> being received respectively in the circumferentially extending cross-bar and the upright of the T. Immediately adjacent slots 5 are reversed in direction whereby each two immediately adjacent blades 10 pivot in opposite directions. The members 2 and 4 are cup shaped with the open end of the member 2 facing the closed end of member 4. Each blade 10 is stamped from sheet metal. The shaft 6 may be rotated by a screwdriver.
