Abstract
1345283 Watches TIMEX CORP 25 Jan 1972 [28 Jan 1971] 3535/72 Heading G3T An indexing mechanism comprises a member 16 mounted on balance staff 13 and having indexing pins 22, 23 which directly engage the teeth 24 of an index wheel 11. The depth of teeth 24 is such that some variation in the amplitude of the balance oscillations can occur before banking of pins 22, 23 on the roots 26 of the teeth. The balance 12 carries a coil or magnet (not shown) and is electrically maintained, for example by a quartz crystal oscillator. Fixed to the index wheel 11 is a disc 33 whose teeth 34 are engaged by a blade spring 36 to prevent reverse movement of the index wheel.
