1344882 Oven shelves; doors SIEMENSELECTROGERATE GmbH 23 July 1971 [24 July 1970] 34797/71 Heading F4W A cooking oven has a door, two guides external of the oven chamber and a carriage for supporting food separate from the door and comprising first and second runners linked by a crossmember and mounted in the guides. In one embodiment, Fig. 3, an oven has a side-hinged door 6, and upper and lower runners 22, linked by a plate 3 with a channel 23 formed at its front to connect to the runners 22. Rollers 33 at the back of the plate bear on the side wall of the oven, and shelves or supports 4 for a dish 5 are supported from hooks secured to the plate 3. A recess 14 receives the channel 23 when the oven is closed. The guides 7 for the runners 22, Fig. 4, are secured to the oven lining 1. Guides for a carriage including a vertical side-plate carrying food supports may be mounted above and below the oven in the same plane as the plate, or U-shaped members running in guides below the oven may carry a cross-member parallel to the back or floor of the oven lining. The cross-member may be formed with a sideplate or plates to carry food supports. The cross-member may be in the form of a trough which may be outside the oven chamber. In this case vertical members extending upwardly from the free ends of the limbs of the U-shaped runners which are inside the oven chamber carry food supports. The carriage may be stiffened by additional cross-members. The door may be linked to the carriage, Fig. 18, so that the food support 4 is withdrawn from the oven when the door 61 is fully open. Levers 91, 92 connect a fixed point 90 and a point 94 in the carriage. A lever 95 connected to the mid-point of the lever 91 at one end carries a pin 96 at the other end. The pin 96 runs in a slot 612 in a quadrant attached to the door, so that the carriage is only moved after the door has opened by about 90 degrees. A similar mechanism may be used with a drop-down door, the carriage commencing to move before the door has swung through 45 degrees, and being fully run out when the door is horizontal.
