Abstract

1344742 Plug closures GTI CORP 2 April 1971 8554/71 Heading B8T A protector for a port 20 comprises a cylindrical body 10 having an integral end-cap 12 and depending ring 14, the whole made of a resilient plastics material. The body 10 is provided with interrupted threads 11, and in operation, the body 10 is forced axially into the port 20 until the ring 14 bears on the surface 21, the end-cap 12 being slightly dished as a result. To remove the protector, the end-cap 12 is punctured to relieve the tension therein and the protector is unscrewed.
