Abstract

1344316 Mixing apparatus SIEMENS AG 28 Sept 1971 [29 Sept 1970] 45240/71 Heading B1C A mixer for particulate plastics material comprises a container 10 having a rotatable stirrer 11 driven through the container bottom and located adjacent thereto in operation, and means for moving the stirrer axially away from the bottom for cleaning. As shown the stirrer has a telescopic shaft 5, 6 of which the inner member 6 is hollow and can be raised by a hydraulic ram 8, 9. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) a screwed rod extends into the inner member 6 and engages a nut fixed thereto to raise it mechanically.
