1343947 Button sewing machines CSEPELI KEREPAR-ES VARROGEPGYAR 13 Sept 1971 [22 Oct 1970] 42534/71 Heading D1G A machine for producing blind chain stitches and post winding in one operational cycle has a programme control member 4 driven from a main shaft 1 and a button clamping and turning device 8 which is coupled by linkage to the control member 4 for turning the button through at least 75‹ between a button sewing and a post winding position and is mounted on a shaft 7 which is journalled on a workpiece-supporting plate 9 which is coupled, for reciprocation, to the control member 4. The button device 8 is adjustable for varying the post height, on the shaft 7 which is rotated through linkage 5, 6 from the cam control member 4 when required. The needle bar is reciprocated vertically from the main shaft 1 and is movable laterally for sewing 4-hole buttons through an adjustable linkage mechanism, a-e, coupled to the cam 4, and the workpiece and button are reciprocated parallel to the main shaft 1 through linkage f, coupled to the cam 4. A workpiece clamping arm 10 is pivoted to the workpiece supporting plate 9 and may be raised against the force of a pressure spring 12, which acts through a roller 11 to permit reciprocation of the arm 10, by pivotting a lever 29. A thread cutter 23 is actuated at requisite points in the cycle from an axial cam 19 on the main shaft through linkage 17, 20, 21, 22 only when the arm 17, which is pivoted to the lever 20 about an axis parallel to the main shaft 1, is permitted to engage the cam 19 by a locking arm 15 controlled by a cam follower 13 acting through a lever 14. After the cutting cycle the cam surface 24 lifts the arm 17 from the cam 19 where it is held by the arm 15. A thread tensioner 27 controlled by cams 25 of the disc 4 cooperates with the thread cutter 23 to clamp the thread during cutting.
