1343592 Automatic phase control PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 July 1972 [22 July 1971] 33747/72 Heading H3A In a variable phase shifter comprising a bridge R1, R2, SR, C with the input applied across one diagonal PO and the phase-shifted output obtained across the other diagonal MT, the phase shift is stabilized by comparing the output at point T with a variable level output from a tapping K on a potentiometer ER, to produce a control signal which adjusts either resistance SR or reactance C to lock the signal between K and T in phase quadrature with the input signal. Variation of the potentiometer setting, which may be voltage controlled, adjusts the phase of the signal between M and T relative to the input signal.
