1343110 Knitted garments COURTAULDS Ltd 19 April 1971 [11 Feb 1970] 6493/70 Addition to 1183574 Heading D1K A method of machine knitting a garment comprises the stops knitting a plurality of tubular portions comprising a second part of the garment and subsequently knitting a single tubular portion constituting the first part so as to cause the wales of different tubular parts of the second part to lie at an angle to one another by narrowing, the narrowing operation being carried out by transferring a set of loops on which a part of the single tubular portion is being knitted to an array of transfer elements, the set of loops extending to the edge of the fabric, effecting relative movement between the array of transfer elements and the needls and transferring the set of loops back to needles of the said row, one of the loops of the set being transferred to a needle already holding an end loop of the row of loops remaining on the needles of the row,
