Abstract

1342285 Reciprocating pumps CHADBURNS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT) Ltd 4 April 1972 [3 April 1971] 8816/71 Heading F1A A pump for dispensing measured quantities of liquid e.g. beer, comprises a double-acting piston 11 or diaphragm reciprocated by air motor pistons 12, 13 or an electric motor, a dispensing tap 22 and the pump motor being controlled by a valve or switch 31, such that a single operation of the valve or switch causes the piston or diaphragm to perform a stroke in one direction, and then stop, e.g. for half a pint, and a double operation of the valve or switch causes a stroke in each direction, e.g. for a pint. As shown, air to pistons 12 and 13 is controlled by a changeover valve 23 operated by solenoids 24, 25 operated by respective switches 29, 30 at the end of each stroke. Switch 31 is a push-button, double-pole changeover switch connected in series with switches 29 and 30, and also connected to tap 22. A switch (32) Fig. 2 (not shown), is provided to short circuit switch 31 for running the pump continuously for cleaning.
