Abstract

1341557 Blended pulverulent detergent composition DANISH OIL MILLS & SOAP FACTORIES Ltd and ANHYDRO AS 1 Sept 1971 [2 June 1970] 26602/70 Heading C5D [Also in Division B1] In a continuous apparatus and method for homogenizing, wetting and agglomerating a powder (see Division B1, and Figs. 1 and 2, not shown) the several solid constituents are formed into a fluidized bed, a differential gas pressure being maintained along the bed to produce uniform fluidization, and liquid is sprayed on to the bed at or near the entry point of the solids. In an example, a detergent was prepared in which the solid constituents of the bed were sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium silicate, spray dried soap, soda ash, a condensate of cetyl/ steryl alcohol with ethylene oxide, and a mixture of carboxyurethylcellulose with optical brighteners; sodium perborate was added near the discharge end of the bed. The liquids, each separately sprayed, were a mixture of 30% caustic soda, sodium xylenesulphonate, 40% ethylenediamine tetra-acetic acid, and water; dodexylbenzene-sulphuric acid; and perfume.
