Abstract

1340358 Centrifugal analysis UNION CARBIDE CORP 19 April 1971 [13 April 1970] 24839/71 Heading B1X [Also in Division G2] A disc for use in a rotary analyser has a number of radial cavities each of which is formed with an inner recess 14, for reagent, with an outwardly inclined outer wall; a central recess 16, for a sample, which is shallower than the inner recess 14; and a mixing recess 18 with an inwardly inclined outer wall and connected to the outside of the disc through a port 20. The ports bend to cuvettes (not shown) into which mixed reagent and samples are forced by centrifugal force when the disc is rotated. The cuvettes pass through one beam of a double-beam spectrophotometer.
