Abstract
1340016 Fibre reactive monoazo dyes CIBAGEIGY AG 19 April 1971 [20 Feb 1970] 22127/71 Heading C4P The invention comprises monoazo dyes of the formul a where A represents a sulphobenzene radical; B is a 1,4-arylene radical which contains an alkoxy group in ortho-position to the -NR- group; R represents H, or an alkyl radical and X represents a fibre-reactive halogenated acryloyl or propionyl radical. The compounds may be prepared by coupling a diazotized aminobenzene-sulphonic acid with a para-coupling aminoaryl compound containing an alkoxy group ortho to the amino group, the coupling component being condensed before or after coupling with an acylating agent to introduce the radical X. Dyes containing an α,#-dibromopropionyl radical as X may be treated with an alkali to form a bromoacryloyl radical. The dyes give yellow and orange shades on synthetic polyurethane and natural and synthetic polyamide fibres.
