Abstract

1340051 Wire fabrics G OROSCHAKOFF 27 Nov 1970 [28 Nov 1969] 56490/70 Heading D1K [Also in Division E1] Concrete reinforcement is made up from sections e.g. W 3 , each with a number of parallel first rods 1 and at least one second rod, e.g. 2, transverse thereto, and assembled with parts of the first rods of one section interdigitated with parts of the first rods of the other section, portions of the interdigitated parts being co-extensive and co-planar, the portions of the first rods of each section contacting the, or at least one of the, second rods of the other section, the assembled sections forming a generally planar, e.g. Fig. 62, or trough-defining, e.g. Fig. 7, reinforcement. The spacing between adjacent rods of each section, considered in the direction of extent of the or each rod transverse thereto, is a whole number multiple of a basic unit of length, and the assembled sections can resist a disassembling force, e.g. Pf 7 , Pf 8 , with the assistance of couplings, e.g. KA, if necessary. The assembly involves the step of placing one section or the interdigitating portion thereof, in a plane at an angle to the plane of the other section, or portion thereof, with the first rods interdigitated, and the second rod parallel, pushing the section together, as in Fig. 6, and then rotating the section. Generally #-shaped reinforcements, Figs. 30-32 (not shown) may be formed, or box-sectioned column reinforcements, which include trough-defining portions, Figs. 41-43, (Figs. 41, 43 not shown). Figs. 45-47 (Figs. 45 and 47 not shown) illustrate the formation of a ribbed slab reinforcement and other beam and I-beam reinforcements are illustrated in Figs. 50-60, (Figs. 50-59 not shown).
