Abstract
1,239,958. Antimicrobial washing agent. HENKEL & CIE G.m.b.H. 12 July, 1968 [13 July, 1967; 9 May, 1968], No. 33278/68. Heading A5E. [Also in Division C5] A washing and cleaning agent comprises (a) as antimicrobial substances from 1-30% by weight of a substituted phenyl ether of the formula: in which R 1 is a C 1-4 aliphatic residue which may be substituted by F, Cl, Br, I or OH or be interrupted by an oxygen atom and R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and R 6 each is H, F, Cl, Br, I, CF 3 or another C 1-4 aliphatic residue, a phenyl or a nitro residue, (b) other usual components of washing agents, washing oily water and cleaning agents which, at least partially comprise a complex-forming compound which in the Hampshire Test has a complex-forming capacity corresponding to more than 230 mg of CaCO 3 per gram of complex-forming compound. Component (b) may contain 0-90% by weight of surface-active constituents comprising 0-100% by weight of a sulphonite and/ or sulphate detergent, 0-100% by weight of a non-woven detergent, 0-100% by weight of a soap, 0-6% by weight of a foam stabiliser, 0-8% by weight of a non-surface-active foam inhibitor 5-99% by weight of a based alkaline reacting substance which in the Hampshire Test has a complex forming capacity corresponding to not more than 230 mg of CaCO 3 per gram of complex-forming compound in combination with the complex forming compounds having a complex-forming capacity above 230mg of CaCO 3 per gram; 0-50% by weight of dirt carries optical brighteners, enzymes, perfumes, dyestuffs or water. The compositions may be in the form of lumps, tablets, powders, granulates, agglomerates, pastes or solutions.
