A closure unit adapted for use with a support spindle 1 having longitudinal ribs 12 at least at its end portion and which carries hollow perforated bobbins 2 of wound textile material to be, e.g. dyes, comprises a sealing part 4 which may be stepped to conform to the size of the top 3 of the bobbin and which is held in sealing position against the bobbin by a compression spring 5. A hollow sleeve 6 slides on the spindle via a central opening in the part 4 and has a rigidly attached handle 8 at one end, and at least one inwardly directed spigot 14 at its inner end which engages in slot(s) 13 in rib(s) 12 by rotation of the handle. A bent portion 15 on the spigot prevents over-rotation at this stage. A cap 17 on the handle may abut the end 16 of the spindle when the spigot and slot are aligned. A flange 7 on the sleeve holds the unit together when removed from the spindle.
