Abstract

1,239,334. Delivering sheets. REED PAPER PRODUCTS Ltd. 1 Aug., 1969 [9 Aug., 1968], No. 38781/69. Heading B8R. [Also in Division F2] Sheets such as cardboard carton blanks delivered in succession from a rotary treatment machine such as a cutting and creasing machine are carried along between a belt or belts 20, Figs. 1B and 4A, and 22, and are deflected downwardly by a belt 32 so as to fall'on to a normally stationary transverse conveyer belt 84 and form a stack thereon. When a predetermined number of sheets have been stacked, a rotating cam wheel on the machine operates electric circuits to energize a motor 86 and move the belt 84 to remove the stack transversely, and to energize a solenoid which causes a valve (see Division F2) to move a piston rod 62 outwards, thereby moving along a channel 38 a bar 34 carrying a plurality of rods 42, which pass through holes in a stripper plate 50 and project over the stack so that following sheets are collected on the bars. By means of timing devices, the belt 84 is stopped when the preceding stack is clear of the stacking position, and the rods are retracted to deposit the sheets thereon on to the belt 84, after which the next stack is formed as before. The stack is positioned by a plate 104, an adjustable side plate 105, and an adjustable plate 96 from which hangs a rubber sheet 100.
