Abstract

1,237,895. Making boxes. KLIKLOK CORP. 26 Sept., 1968 [21 Dec., 1967], No. 45647/68. Heading B5D. [Also in Division B8] A box blank, Fig. 1, is formed into a box by a punch and die, the corner gusset panels 28-31, 36-39 being folded inwardly against the side walls 12, 13 while hook portions 56-59 of locking tabs 44-47 are inserted into slots 48- 51, the sides 12, 13 being flexed along lines 76 (which are not creases), Fig. 3, during this insertion to increase the height of the hook points. Rollers (77), Fig. 3 (not shown), flatten out these sides 12, 13 after being flexed. The locking tabs 44-47 may also have corners 60- 63 which are inserted in the slots 48-51 by means of a reciprocating plunger with hooklike extensions 78, Figs. 6, 8, which push flaps 52-55 outwards, engage with the locking tabs when they are folded down and pull them inwards so that the two corners of each tab are engaged in the slots 48-51.
