Abstract

[Also in Division H2] A circuit for supply a load from a main battery includes a test battery which discharges at the same time as the main battery and which is used to determine whether the main battery has at least a minimum charge left in it. In the circuit shown, a load 11 is supplied from a main battery 10 through a switch 13, closure of which also connects a test battery 18 to a dummy load 19. To test the main battery, a push-button 29 is closed so that a relay 26 is energized from the test battery and an indicator lamp 27 is switched on. The components are chosen so that the relay operates only if at least, say, 25% of the charge remains in the main battery, A stand-by load and a battery-charging circuit, Fig. 2 (not shown), may also be provided,
