Abstract

1,237,189. Aircraft emergency apparatus. A. P. PEDRICK. 20 Nov., 1970, No. 55198/70. Heading B7G. An emergency system for an aircraft comprises the shutting down of all engines and the release of a small parachute from abreast the main wing roots together with the short firing of a jet at the nose to force the nose upwards, the pulling out of a main parachute by the first small parachute to stabilize the aircraft in a nose up position and the firing of the jet in response to a feeler from the aircraft contacting the ground or water to brake the final pulling movement of the aircraft.
