A marine fender comprises an inner cylindrical, flexible, inflatable body 2 encompassed by outer ring-shaped elements 10 positioned side by side on the inner body and supported by it when the inner body is inflated. In the embodiment of Fig. 7 the ring-shaped elements are interconnected by longitudinally extending tension rods such as 40, 44.
