Abstract
1,236,278. Vortex amplifiers. H. M. HOBSON Ltd. Oct. 17, 1969 [Nov.12, 1968], No.53601/68. Heading G3H. A fluidic amplifier comprises pairs of pushpull connected vortex amplifiers forming a comparing section V1-V4, and amplifier sections V5, V6 and V7, V8 with a fluid potentiometer R5, R6 providing a multiplying factor feedback signal P p to the comparing section which also receives a signal P I to be multiplied. Capacitors C 1 , C 2 and resistors R 1 -R 9 provide the desired operating conditions with a common supply P S . Amplifiers V5-8 are constructed as shown in Fig. 6 with tangential control inlets 13, an annular supply inlet 111, and an axial outlet 12 feeding a recovery probe 15. The Specification sets out pressures and dimensions, and discusses the operation of the amplifier in detail. Specification 1, 236, 277 is referred to.
