Abstract

1,234,758. Windows, doors, gates &c. BERNARD DIXON & PARTNERS Ltd. 4 Dec., 1968 [4 Dec., 1967], No. 55107/67. Heading E1J. A sealing device for the bottom of a door comprises a downwardly extending elastomeric and neoprene sealing strip 1 retained in a substantially rigid holding member 2 adapted for attachment as by screws, to the surface of the door and an outwardly and downwardly waterdeflecting member 6 the upper marginal portion of which is adapated to lie against the same surface of the door and is interengaged as by interlocking of rib 11 and recess 13 with the member 2 and to extend downwardly over the sealing member 1 so that the lower outer edge 8 of the member 6 is flush with or slightly below the lower edge of the sealing member 1. The rib 11 and recess 13 may be of dovetail section. As shown there is a small clearance 15 between the confronting surfaces of members 2 and 6 to allow a small amount of relative rocking movement between these members. Member 6 may be attached lightly to the door and elongate holes 4 are provided for adjustment purposes. In a modification (shown in Fig. 4 the two confronting surfaces of the holder and deflector bear against each other rather than interlock as in Fig. 1.
