A reel is releasably secured on a shaft 12 as in Specification 1,109,412 except that the or each groove 14 has at least one wall undercut 15 to receive the ends of only some of the pins 20 of the chain, and the chain 17 is compressed, e.g. by fluid (air) pressure or by a screw and nut mechanism at each end of the shaft.
