Abstract

1,232,358. Sealing strip. D. T. FROST (Diband Industrieband G.m.b.H.). 2 June, 1969, No. 27808/69. Heading E1J. A foamed plastics strip 1 has a flat surface 2 applied with adhesive 3 and an opposite surface non-porous to water, the strip being rolled so that the adhesive contacts the non- porous surface. The non-porous surface is sealed and formed with ribs 4 by plasticisation and embossing. To form a plurality of strips simultaneously an embossing calender forms notches (7, Fig. 4, not shown) in a web to partially separate it into strips and simultaneously effects the sealing and formation of ribs. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the strip has a coating layer 5 with a sealed surface and ribs.
