1,231,320. Stamping. TUTHILL PUMP CO. 8 Aug., 1969, No. 39845/69. Heading B3Q. [Also in Divsion F2] Apparatus for grooving and sealing the end of a tube 60, e.g. for testing, comprises a body 48 for insertion in the tube, a stem 52 in a bore in the body, means 32, 40 on the stem for sealing between the stem and tube and for forming a groove, and means 20 for moving the stem. The sealing ring 32 and a split-ring 40 are carried on a sleeve 34 between the end of the body 48 and a collar 42 on the stem 52. Rotation of the camlever 20 to the position shown moves the stem endwise for compressing the O-ring 32 and expanding the split-ring 40 along a sloping section of the sleeve 34. A lateral opening 50 may be formed in the body 48 and a longitudinal channel 54 in the stem 52 for supplying fluid to the tube.
