Abstract
1,231,047. Lamp housings. ESQUIRE Inc. 8 Oct., 1968 [8 Nov., 1967], No. 47702/68. Heading F4R. A housing suitable for a floodlamp or the like is composed of at least one shaped panel formed from a plurality of extruded metal sections connected together by tongue and groove joints, the shaping of the panel being performed after the sections have been joined. The sections 50 are preferably made of aluminium and each may have a tongue 55 at one edge and a groove 56 at the other, although end sections having a tongue or groove at one edge and a terminal flange at the other are also provided for the sides of the panel. Each section has cooling and strengthening ribs 54 on one side 52 and may be polished on the other side 51 to serve as a reflector. Each panel when assembled is cut and bent to the required shape and two or more may then be joined together, e.g. by welding, to form the housing. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 118,017.
