Abstract
1,230,445. Filing papers &c. COPELANDCHATTERSON CO. Ltd. 31 Oct., 1969 [21 Nov., 1968], No. 55369/68. Heading B6E. An index card container 1, Fig. 1, made of metal or plastics and meshable within other like container comprises a pair of side walls 19, respective front and rear walls 17, 18 and a base 3 having lands 4 which are provided along opposite longitudinal edges with recesses 5 engaged pivotally by projections 6, Fig. 6, on spacers 2 provided also with projections 12 which engage with serrations 11 so that the spacers can be moved into and out of engagement with a pack of index cards (not shown). The spacers 2 may be lifted out of one set of recesses 5 and placed into another set of recesses 5, the lifting of the spacers being limited by a rod 16 passed through vertical slots 10 in the spacers 2 and located in vertical slots 9 in the container. The rod 16 is locked in the container by a pin 21 abutting the inner face of front wall 17 and the spacers 2 are made of plastics or metal and have a grid structure to make them of lightweight construction.
