Abstract
1,229,767. Refrigerating. MAX-PLANCKGES. ZUR FORDERUNG DER WISSENSCHAFTEN E.V. 26 Feb., 1970 [19 March, 1969], No. 9488/70. Addition to 1,183,767. Heading F4H. In a system of the type described in parent Specification for maintaining temperatures below the # point of helium, the replenishing chamber 5 communicates with the helium II bath 2 through two superleaks 6 and 8. A tube 9 ensures that the space between the superleaks is at the same pressure as the replenishing chamber so that there can be no pressure breakdown of the upper superleak and therefore no passage of liquid helium to the bath 2 due to excessive pressure in the replenishing chamber
