1,229,223. Animal foodstuffs. SWIFT & CO. 5 Nov., 1968, No. 52374/68. Heading A2B. A protein feed product which contains 25-65% by weight of a non-protein nitrogen source is prepared by mixing for at least 10 secs. under a pressure of between 50 and 900 p.s.i.g. and at 200-350‹F. a mixture of 25-65% by weight of urea and/or other food-grade ammonium salts and a proteinaceous material to form a plastic matrix, and extruding the matrix in a continuous elongated shaps which shows no tendency to agglomerate. Suitable proteinaceous materials are glue, gelation, blood, casein, egg albumen, blood albumen, lactealbumen, legumas or oilseed protein such as soybean, linseed, peanut and cotton seed meal.
