Abstract

1,228,755. Powder distributors. AEROSTYLE Ltd. 31 May, 1968 [1 June, 1967], No. 25365/67. Heading B2F. Apparatus for spraying powders comprises a chamber 30 having a powder inlet 34 and an outlet 40 through which powder is ejected, a motor driven rotatable element 20 having outwardly projecting springy wires or vanes 28 adapted to pick up powder particles in the chamber, and means 42 for bending the wires or vanes backwards and then releasing them in the vicinity of the chamber outlet whereby they throw the powder picked up through the outlet without the passage of compressed air. The wires or vanes 28 may be mounted on a shaft 32 rotated via gearing means by motor 18 controlled by trigger switch 14 in handle 12, the wires or vanes being deformed by the abutment 42 and released to eject the powder. The powder may be charged by connecting the abutment to a high voltage source via cable 44.
