In a dishwashing machine having a door 19 opening from a vertical to a horizontal position in one of its side walls, a lower rack 36 horizontally movable by rollers 37 from within the machine on brackets 38 to a position on tracks 39 on the door 19, an upper rack is divided into left and right hand portions 40, 41 independently movable of one another on rollers 47 provided on the side walls 15, 16 of the machine and rollers 54 provided in an arm 53 of a bracket 52 supported from the top 12 of the machine. The racks 40, 41 are supported in upper or lower positions by boss 59 or 58 resting on hooks 56 and clips 57 provided at the rear and front ends of frames 42, 43. The frames 42, 43 are supported by rollers 48 engaged in elongated slots 50, 51 provided in slides 46 operating between the rollers 47 and by the adjacent edges of the frames 42, 43 moving between opposed central rollers 54. In an alternative embodiment, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), rollers, similar to 48, mounted on brackets are provided on the outer and inner edges of the frames and operate in the manner shown in Figs. 1 and 2, The brackets, however, are arranged to be inverted to locate the frames at different levels. The rear ends of the slides in this embodiment are provided with stops rotatable through 90 degrees to allow the frames to be removed. A known electrical sequence control is provided for operating a fill valve, and a motor operated pump valve 27 having a discharge 35 and an outlet 31 communicating with a reaction type spray head 33. Drying is facilitated by an electrical heating element.
